Opinions differ and outlooks vary, but both when meet, it leads to an innovation. And in this highly revolutionary world, an organisation needs to market its own innovative discoveries in the best possible way to reach the zenith.  Untying the knots and connecting the links is what is expected out of a manager and his team in an organisation. MARKENOVA ( Marketing + Innovation) is the event to test your out of the box thinking , creativity and application of marketing concepts.

 

STRUCTURE

The event was conducted over many stages. Stage-1 was an elimination round (online submission) . The teams shortlisted at the end of stage I were invited to the IMNU campus during Perspective 2013 for further stages.

 

STAGE-I: What’s your story

This was an online round. In this round, the teams were given a set of unrelated pictures of different objects and situations. The teams were required to connect those pictures, come up with a related product or service and build a story on it.

 

10 teams were shortlisted on the basis of stage-I and were invited to IMNU for further stages.

                                                              

AFTER GETTING SHORTLISTED:

Teams were given a brand which will be introducing a new product line. The information about the brand was communicated two weeks before the event started. Teams had to come up with a marketing strategy for the new product line that the brand will be launching. That marketing strategy was to be presented in maximum of 10 slides.

The PowerPoint presentation must cover the following:

  • Understanding the product line with respect to company and the market.

  • When (timing)

  • Where (geographic strategy): city, region or national launch etc.

  • To whom (target-market prospects)

  • How (introductory market strategy):

  • naming the product/service

  • positioning statement

  • pricing strategy

  • Advertising, promotion and other communication

  • Identifying competitors (at most two) and the competitive strategy with respect to them.
